Tens Frame App Reviews

9 add

Needs only a little improvement to be better!

I was excited to finally see a tens frame app, however, was dissapointed after buying it. It seems to only allow 5 counters of one colour, and 5 of another, which makes showing 8+2=10 difficuilt (youd have five blue, 3 orange, and have to add 2 more orange. Better to have 9 or 10 of each so that its easier to show combinations of numbers over 5. Just do that, Matthew Thomas and Ill give you 3 stars!

Needs a clear button

This app would be great if it had a clear button and if the tokens were significantly different colors, like red and bright yellow. The light blue and lavender are hard to distinguish when my iPad is under a document camera, displayed on a projector.

Ok app

This app would be so much better if it used brighter colors-red and yellow for kids with visual impairments - and if it had optional sound and numbers on the 10 frame. Make a multi-sensory tool for lots of users please:))

Special Ed teacher

Not much to it, waste of money. Needs example problems or equations to make it better.

Good K tool

I am looking forward to using this in my classroom. It would be helpful to have ten monsters of each color so that you can show all of the ways to make a number.

Great!

This could work great in the classroom -- except were limited to 5 + ____ (another number). Currently were unable to add 6 plus another number because there are only 5 aliens of each color. Change this (i.e.: 10 aliens of EACH color) and this could be a very useful tool for teaching adding and/or subtracting. Note: LOVE the fact that we have the option of hiding the tens frame.

Monster 10 frame

This app allows a student to move tiles to a frame to complete the ten frame or the two ten frames. This means the student is counting on, from whatever they set the frame to hold. That seems to be it. There are no problems provided, such as 6 + ? = 11, and no way to check answers. There is no subitizing practice, which is important. The monsters are cute, but are merely virtual tiles. Hopefully improvements will be made to improve this app - in the meantime, there are free apps that do what this does.

Not worth your money

This app doesnt do anything. All you can do is drag and drop monsters onto a ten frame. For spending $1.99 on an app, I would like to see something more interactive and educational.

Okay

This app can be used by teachers to project. I was disappointed that the description said the counters were purple and blue, but monsters were the only choice. Suggestion....provide red and yellow counters since that is what students will be using and add a writing tool so teachers can circle or write equations.
